What parents are saying
Bought this for my 13-year-old son who is obsessed with space. He worked on it every evening for several days and barely touched his phone. The finished station is HUGE and looks incredible on his shelf. Definitely one of the best gifts I've bought him.
The brick quality surprised me the most. Everything connects tightly and the structure feels much more solid than other large building sets we've tried. With 2,221 pieces, there's plenty to build without feeling repetitive.
My husband is an engineer and I originally bought this as a Christmas gift half as a joke. He ended up spending the entire weekend building it. The mechanical details and motorized sections made it much more interesting than a normal display model.
The instruction book deserves a mention. 189 pages and 574 steps sounds intimidating, but everything is broken down clearly. My son could follow most of it independently and only asked me for help a couple of times. Great challenge without being frustrating.
This thing is seriously impressive once finished. At around 27 inches long, it's not one of those models that looks big in photos and tiny when it arrives. Everyone who comes into my office asks me about it.
I wanted a gift that wasn't another video game. This was perfect. My son spent hours concentrating, figuring out the structure and seeing how all the pieces work together. You can actually see the patience and problem-solving involved in completing it.
I've built quite a few technical sets and the upgraded motor is what makes this one stand out. Movement is smooth and the completed model feels surprisingly sturdy for something this detailed. Very satisfying build from start to finish.
Really impressive set and the finished model looks amazing on display. The brick quality is excellent and the instructions are detailed, but with 2,221 pieces it definitely takes patience to complete. I wish a few of the building steps were a little easier to follow. Still a great project and absolutely worth it for space fans.
